I have been homeschooling our six children alongside my wife for about 16 years in Alberta, Canada. Although we have entered each stage of the homeschool journey with questions and doubts about how all this was going to work out for our kids in the future, we have seen two of our children so far go from birth to university without the school system. We still have to work through challenges, but we know homeschooling is an excellent option for learning and lifestyle.
In 2018, I completed my doctorate degree in Education at the University of Alberta and wrote my dissertation on home education. Because of ourĀ experience and education, lots of friends and family members have asked us questions about homeschooling.
Homeschooling has grown tremendously in recent years and is likely the fastest growing method of education in North America. Unlike the early years in the 1970s and 1980s, when homeschooling was just beginning and homeschool families had very little help, today there is so much material, curricula, and philosophy to sift through. New homeschool families are especially overwhelmed with all the information, and they are not sure how to start or what to do.

The purpose of This Golden Hour is to help homeschool families understand and apply basic principles of homeschooling so that their families can enjoy learning and live the lifestyle THEY want to live. Specifically, I help homeschool families customize their own homeschool plan based onĀ THEIR values, beliefs, interests, and family priorities.Ā Through my course, live training sessions, and ongoing support, families will gain confidence, competence, and peace, and receive the answers and direction they need to homeschool successfully.
